DR. HAI PHAM: FROM REFUGEE TO COMMUNITY LEADER

In a time of uncertainty and change, Hai Pham is the leader we need to build a better future for our children and all Oregonians.

Dr. Pham’s family came to Oregon after fleeing Vietnam. Through hard work and community support, he overcame hardships to become a pediatric dentist. He founded Hi 5 Dental: Dentistry for Kids, to provide care for the underserved children of Washington County.

To give back to the community that has given him so much, Dr. Pham serves on the board of the Dental Foundation of Oregon and volunteers with the Tooth Taxi – a way to provide free care to children and adults who cannot access a dentist in their community.

“My story is one of incredible opportunity – and I believe others deserve access to the same opportunities I’ve had. As your Representative, I’ll fight to improve health care, make our communities safer, and ensure a quality education for all children.” Dr. Hai Pham

DR. PHAM: THE LEADER WE NEED

State Senator Janeen Sollman
“Dr. Pham’s passion for helping others shines through in all he does. He will provide exceptional leadership for the people of District 36.”

Representative Sheri Schouten
“I trust Dr. Pham to carry on the legacy of the work I have done in the Legislature – especially on strengthening our healthcare system. He has my full support.”

Hillsboro School Board Member Yadira Martinez
“When it comes to looking out for children and families, we couldn’t do better than Dr. Hai Pham.”

ABOUT LUCETTA ELMER

Lucetta is an Oregon native. She grew up on a small farm in Yamhill County where her parents and grandparents tended the land. It was here that her earnest work ethic was formed. She doesn't shy away from hard labor or difficult tasks. She had her first taste of small business experience when she was 15 and began to do payroll for her dad's Timber business.

SMALL BUSINESS ADVOCATE

Lucetta has owned and operated multiple McMinnville businesses throughout the years. Each business is deeply rooted in multiple facets that make Oregon great: tourism, commerce, land development, education, housing and entertainment. Lucetta will always be a strong advocate for small businesses as our State Representative.

DEEP COMMUNITY ROOTS

Over the years, Lucetta has rooted herself deeply into serving her community. She has served as Chair of McMinnville Chamber of Commerce, Chair of McMinnville Christian Academy, a Board Member of McMinnville Downtown Association, and a Member of the Government Affairs Committee.

PROTECTING OUR CHILDREN’S FUTURE

Lucetta knows that the decisions made by our leaders in Salem will affect the future of our kids. She is very passionate about creating opportunities for our children to grow and be the very best they can be.

STANDING UP FOR OUR TAXPAYERS AND VALUES

Lucetta will stand up for our tax dollars, and our values in Salem. Out-of-control crime needs to be addressed and authoritarian leadership from our Governor has gone too far.

Occupation: Business Owner, State Representative

Occupational Background: Teacher, Small Business Owner

Educational Background: Portland State University, B.S. Education

Prior Governmental Experience: State Representative, Douglas County Commissioner, Planning Commissioner, Parks Advisory Board, Umpqua Community College Foundation Board, School Board Chair

ABOUT CHRISTINE GOODWIN

Chris has been a resident of southern Oregon for over 40 years. She was a teacher at Roseburg High School before opening and operating Oregon South Fitness. Her next venture was the successful SoCo Coffee Company operated out of the building that she and her husband built for his Optometry practice. She is the Chief Financial Officer of that practice, and has always stayed actively involved in our community.

FIGHTING FOR SOUTHERN OREGON

Chris believes the heart of our community is small business. She opposes burdensome regulations and excessive taxation. Creating an environment where businesses can grow will keep southern Oregon thriving. Chris will continue to fight for the traditional values that we all share. She stands up for life, small business, gun rights, law enforcement, timber & agriculture, and school choice.

DON’T PORTLAND OUR OREGON

Chris pushes back against big-city policies that disproportionately give resources and influence to Portland.

BACKING LAW ENFORCEMENT

Chris supports law enforcement and will continue to fight against any efforts to weaken our police. She is grateful that our community values our police and sheriffs and does not tolerate lawlessness and rioting.

EFFECTIVE WILDFIRE MANAGEMENT

We must responsibly manage our natural resources to rebuild a robust economy and protect our working lands. Annual wildfires diminish our quality of life, and threaten one of our greatest commodities. Christine will continue to work on positive reforms for managing our forests and fighting wildfires.

Cyrus B Javadi

Occupation: Dentist and Owner, SandCreek Dental

Occupational Background: Dentist; Stockbroker

Educational Background: DDS – University of the Pacific; Accounting BS – Brigham Young University

Prior Governmental Experience: Dental Director, Tillamook County Health Department; Commissioner for the Port of Tillamook

Dr. Cyrus Javadi: For a Better Tomorrow

My wife Annie, our five children, and I have lived in Tillamook for ten years, previously living in Astoria. I earned a degree in accounting, and I did financial and tax work before getting my dental degree. Now, I operate a small private dental practice.

My small business was forced to lay off nearly every single employee during the COVID lockdowns. I’m one of the lucky small business owners who was able survive and rehire our employees. Many never did.

I’m not a politician, I just believe it’s time for Oregonians to step up to save our great state!

Our North Coast Priorities

My top three priorities are local control, education, & public safety:

Local Control

“Cyrus is the kind of Republican who is both conservative and focused on the issues that we really care about on the North Coast, such as timber, fishing, farming, Highway 6 improvements, and broadband. Those are the problems that need our leaders’ attention!”

Katy Pritchard, Retired Army National Guard (Astoria)

Restoring School Choice

“We need more parents with school aged children serving in the Oregon Legislature. I know Cyrus will stand up for school choice and improve local public schools. Every family deserves to have educational opportunities that best fit their children.”

Courtney Bangs, Parent, Teacher, & Clatsop County Commissioner

Protecting Our Communities

"I know Cyrus will strive to build safer communities by fighting against the efforts of politicians who want to defund local police and refuse to hold criminals and those that harm others accountable."

Farrah Fights for Human Rights!

Promised opportunities are not available to many of us because the status quo has prioritized corporate greed over human need. With your support, I will fight to guarantee every Oregonian’s vital needs are met.

The rising cost of housing hurts working families, our economy, and leaves thousands of our neighbors homeless. Bringing down the cost of housing by expanding renter protections and establishing a right to rest will be my highest priority.

So many in our community still can’t afford the healthcare they need. I will fight for a single-payer – Medicare for All style – system so you don’t have to worry about costs or fighting insurance companies when you need healthcare.

Climate change is no longer a problem of the future, as recent extreme weather events show. We need a just green transition that addresses the whole picture by regulating big polluters, creating good jobs, and providing safe landing places for workers in fossil fuel industries.

Community leaders endorsing Farrah:

“I’ve known Farrah from her time on the Human Rights Advisory Committee. She has always been an unrelenting advocate for human rights and she shows up time and time again for candidates and her community. I’m proud to show up for her and endorse her for House District 35.” Lacey Beaty, Mayor of Beaverton

Travis Nelson for State Representative
The Progressive We Need for North and Northeast Portland

As a nurse for the last 18 years, I think about our personal health, our civic health, our planet’s health and the health of our public systems. Covid-19 has proven that many of the safety nets we rely on are frayed and vulnerable. This is a wake up call we must answer, and that is why I am running to be your voice in Salem.

As Your State Representative I’m Fighting For:

  • Housing for All: There is a humanitarian crisis on our streets. We must deliver additional shelter, mental health and substance abuse services, permanent supportive housing, and affordable housing for every neighborhood.
  • Healthcare for All: We need low or no-cost healthcare and prescriptions. That extends to protecting every woman's access to quality reproductive healthcare.
  • Supporting Schools: We must invest in schools to address workforce shortages and ensure students have a safe environment to learn in five days a week.
  • Equity: As the only Black man in the Oregon State House and the first Black, LGBTQ+ person to serve in the State Legislature, I will bring voice to communities who haven’t historically had a seat at the table.

“Ben is a committed leader with a hopeful vision for Oregon’s future. No one will work harder to deliver results for all Oregonians.”
– Governor Barbara Roberts

Lower the Cost of Living: I support reducing the cost of healthcare and prescription drugs, expanding affordable childcare options, and creating more living-wage jobs to promote economic mobility.

Build a World-Class Public Education System: We can lift academic achievement by investing in preschool for all, reading programs, and CTE. We must support educators and lower the cost of higher education.

Invest in Affordable Housing and Address Homelessness: We must build more housing, make purchasing easier for first-time home buyers, and expand access to mental health and addiction services.

Protect Oregon’s Environment: I love this state and believe deeply in protecting the natural beauty that makes it special. We must combat and build resilience to wildfires, droughts, and the consequences of climate change.

“Ben is exactly what Oregon needs right now — a bright, visionary public servant committed to solving our most complex problems in a way that builds community.”
