Zeloszelos Marchandt: The Right Choice for Beaverton

Just like you, Beaverton is my home. It’s where my partner and I chose to raise our son, enjoy the natural beauty, and grow our small business. After nearly four decades living in Washington County, I’m ready to represent us in Salem where I can keep fighting for Beaverton families.

Housing & Homelessness:

We can’t wait to solve our homelessness crisis. I’ve been a leader in making housing procurements more accessible to the community. Our safe neighborhoods need more affordable housing, more first-time buyer programs, emergency shelter, renter protections, and wraparound services so more people can have a place to call home.

Working Families and Civil Rights:

I will continue supporting our essential workers and all families, regardless of gender identity or sexuality, with fair wages, strong safety protections, and access to affordable, high-quality healthcare, including abortion.

Improving Schools:

As a parent and a guest teacher, I know we need to invest in schools so students receive the instruction they need five days a week. We need peer support programs for educators so we can retain more talented teachers and teachers of color.

Combating Climate Change:

My business, like many in Oregon, depends on natural resources, preserving and honoring the land we grow food on. I’ll bring bold leadership to the fight for our climate, because the next generation depends on us.

Jennifer Kinzey

Occupation: I am an attorney doing public defense in Hillsboro. I represent kids, mothers, and fathers in Juvenile Dependency cases.

Occupational Background: I have been a lifeguard, a server, a cafe manager, a valet, a prosecutor, and a public defender.

Educational Background: BA in Political Science and Theatre, Juris Doctorate, Masters in Law in International Law and Governance.

Prior Governmental Experience: Prior to working in public defense, I worked in the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office as a Special Prosecutor applying criminal law and alternative resolution in Community Court. I worked to resolve cases with services instead of jail.

I am running for House District 34 to put What We Value into our laws and our budget.

My stance on a few of the issues affecting the daily lives of those in my district:

Childcare: We need universal childcare that includes home-based daycares to increase access to high-quality, culturally-informed childcare.

Infrastructure: We need a better commute for those who work in healthcare, hospitality, tech, and other industries. Sunset Highway (26) needs better signage, revision of redundant exits, and reworking how one-way and two-way traffic feed into the highway to reduce accidents and slow-downs.

Housing: We need affordable housing in every neighborhood. We need to stop moving homeless camps around between neighborhoods and actually coordinate services to get them housed and off the streets.

I vow to seek out and listen to people affected by the problem; DAs and public defenders for criminal laws, healthcare workers for healthcare laws, construction workers and unions for laws on bidding for State work, and our BIPOC, disabled, queer, immigrant, and any disadvantaged communities on all legislation because every law impacts each group in a different way. I promise to use my skills to put What We Value into law effectively.

I will help build an Oregon that works for all of us, and ensure that our government preserves the rights of all Oregonians while making sure everyone has equal access to every opportunity they can.

The cost of living is rising, making it harder for families and seniors on a fixed income to live comfortably. This, along with a lack of affordable housing is contributing to the homelessness epidemic. I will work to ensure that jobs with liveable wages are readily available.

I believe the Democratic ideal is for every person to have an equal voice in our government and our society, but too often if feels like every dollar gets an equal voice, instead. I will work to reduce the corrosive effect money is having on our politics.

The legislature made progress on several issues during this year’s short session, including improving health care coverage, fair treatment for agricultural workers, protecting our environment, addressing our housing crisis, and other issues. I will continue to build on that work, furthering progress on these issues and many more they didn’t address. I’m asking for your vote so that we can keep Oregon moving forward together.

About Todd Morrill

Todd Is Willing to Fight For You

Todd wants to focus on our Fundamental Liberties, as guaranteed in the US and State Constitutions.

  • He wants to take back our individual rights so we can make free decisions.
  • The right to have free and open speech without retaliation in public or our place of employment.
  • Rejection of all mandates and regulations that violate personal privacy, body autonomy, and the mandates that were used to infringe on our right of employment.

Occupation: Software Engineer and Data Scientist

Occupational Background: Delivered fab automation software, 3D game tools, an online game, and aerial drones.

Educational Background: B.S. Computer Science – University of Utah; Masters of Computer Science with Data Science – University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign

Prior Governmental Experience: HSD Community Curriculum Advisory Committee (5 years) – advises the school board on new curricula.

My wife and I have been raising our family in Hillsboro for twenty years, and serving in our schools for most of that time. Last year I ran for school board, and fought alongside other parents to open our schools sooner to help our most vulnerable students. I spoke up for parental rights. Looking at recent legislation (e.g. SB1521), it is clear that this fight is for control over our laws, not just our local schools and board.

We need to…

Protect our freedoms

  • COVID has shown us that our state government has too much power.
  • Other states suffered less impact with fewer restrictions.
  • Mandates have stalled our children’s education and hurt small businesses.
  • We need to reconsider limits on what our government can mandate.

Keep public school decisions local

  • The superintendent should be accountable to the school board, who answer to parents and voters. Salem is changing this formula to centralize control.
  • Salem’s one-size-fits-all programs are crippling our local schools.
  • Over 3% of our students are trying to transfer out to other districts or charter schools because their needs are not met in local public schools. Private schools are overflowing. These alternatives should be open to all students.
  • Parents should have more say in their children’s education.

The past two years have shown real divisions across our state. In Salem, I will actively work with both sides to find the best solutions for Oregon.

Gina Munster-Moore

Occupation: Small Business Owner

Occupational Background: Event planning, winery

Educational Background: Glencoe High School. Southern Oregon University. Bachelors from George Fox University.

Prior Governmental Experience: Washington County Sheriff’s Posse

ABOUT GINA MUNSTER MOORE

My family and I moved to Northwestern Hillsboro back in 1974. We landed on a small 8 acre farm in Helvetia. This was when Hillsboro had addresses like Route 61-S. We finally were able to buy horses, chickens and ducks. I grew up taking part in horse 4-H. I started my first year in the Hillsboro School district at West Union Elementary. I was a Washington County Junior Rodeo Court Princess in 1978.

I have two grown daughters and own a small business in Hillsboro.

FIGHTING FOR WESTERN WASHINGTON COUNTY

We must have a strong voice for our Forest Grove, Cornelius and West Hillsboro area. I will not be “just” another vote for the Governor or Democrat leadership, instead I will work to represent the people here, not Portland.

SUPPORTING SMALL BUSINESS

Our community is made up of a large amount of small businesses. I will be a fierce advocate in helping them be successful. Helping them keep employees, lowering their tax burden, and removing harmful regulations.

PROTECTING THE COMMUNITY

We must be supporting our local police departments and fire departments. I will be a strong advocate for our police departments so they have the resources to keep our community safe.

LOCAL CONTROL AND STANDARDS FOR EDUCATION

There needs to be a check and balance in our education system, that is local control of our school boards. Salem should not be dictating what our local school board can handle themselves. I will also push for achievable standards in our education system.

WORKING FOR MEANINGFUL TRANSPORTATION STRATEGIES

We must invest in better streets and transportation corridors in West Washington County. With the increased number of people moving to our communities, we need to help our local cities with funding.

Occupation: Retired Business Owner of a local firm serving electric utility industry.

Occupational Background: 40+ years serving the electric utility industry including engineering, manufacturing, distribution, sales, and international sales.

Educational Background: Engineering studies at Somerset Institute of Technology; Business Administration, Centenary University.

Prior Governmental Experience: Republican Committee Precinct Person with a clear perspective on government.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: Compassionate Hands International; Charbonneau (Country View Neighborhood); Horizon Community Church and Hispanic Outreach (Esperanza); Several Electric Utility Associations.

FAMILY: Married to Anna for 38 years. Blessed with two sons, a law enforcement officer, and a former Marine now a production manager. We have loved living in this beautiful State Oregon for more than 31 years.

REPUBLICAN BACKGROUND AND COMMITMENT: After selling my interest in a small business partnership in 2020 and retiring, I realized that voting and contributing money alone were not enough. I sought an appointment as Precinct Committee Person. Last year, I was also appointed to the Oregon Republican Party State Convention as a Delegate where I worked on the GOP platform and actively participated at the Convention. While volunteering for candidates, I gained considerable insight into the many real problems facing average Oregonians and this inspired me to step forward and serve my community as your State Representative.

MY PERSONAL MESSAGE: We are a constitutional republic that draws its authority from the consent of the governed. Somehow many of our political leaders have forgotten this truth.

As your State Representative, I will focus on improving our transportation system, reducing congestion, and opposing new tolls. Furthermore, I want to ensure that parents have options for how they educate their children and that school districts focus on the fundamentals. I’ll work hard to ensure we take care of the most vulnerable in society and make policy decisions that support private sector job growth.

I humbly ask for your vote.

Gabriel Buehler

Occupation: Journeyman Plumber

Occupational Background: US Marine Corps

Educational Background: Clackamas Community College

Prior Governmental Experience: None

I volunteered for the United States Marine Corps after September 11th but before we went to war with Iraq. I felt the calling to serve the country that had guaranteed every freedom I had grown to love. Today I feel that calling again, to serve our state that has had so many freedoms stripped away by one party rule. This one-party state is constantly looking for a little more power and just a little more money to solve all our problems. The fact is our state has one of the worst education systems in the nation, the homelessness has never been improved by any of their policies and we are one of the most heavily taxed states in the nation. When your party comes first, and the people come second, your freedoms come last. One party rule doesn’t work as we all know in our beloved state of Oregon. Help me to restore balance to our state and let’s end this one-party rule.

As your state representative I will stand up to protect your inalienable rights including but not limited to;
Right to medical freedom
Right to self-defense
Right of parents in education
Right of free speech
Right to move freely within our country
Right to religious freedom

The last few years have shown Oregonians, how important it is to have a voice that stands strong with convection in the belief of basic rights. I will tirelessly educate voters when their rights are being ignored. In standing for my values, I have turned down many opportunities in my past. I will continue to stand strong in my values regardless of the consequence.

I am Proudly Endorse by these amazing grassroots organizations. I have been working with them, they have boots on the ground and make our voices louder.

Occupational Background: Attorney, Tribal Advocate, and marketing manager.

Educational Background: Newberg schools, University of Oregon (B.S.), American University (M.A. & J.D.).

I know this district.

As a fifth-generation Oregonian, born and raised in Newberg, I know this district – its residents, challenges, and opportunities. I volunteer with YCAP, NWSDS, and McMinnville’s Budget Committee, working to find solutions for the residents of Yamhill County. As your next Representative, I will go to work finding solutions for the residents of District 24.

I am passionate about improving people’s lives.

I became a lawyer to make a difference in people’s lives. Abroad, I fought to protect democracy, counter extremism, and promote human rights. When I moved back, I was shocked to see those values under attack here. We are facing extremism, division, and systemic injustices. I am running to protect the principles of democracy and ensure that all Oregonians have a voice and a place in Oregon.

I have the right experience.

I am passionate about Oregon, and I have governmental experience working with US Congress, the European Union Parliament, and the UN International Law Commission. I am a lawyer, and I understand the importance of crafting targeted, effective legislation. I work hard, and I will get things done for this district.

As your Representative, I will work to promote:

  • Access to democracy, including countering extremism and protecting human rights;
  • Access to a fair economy that serves all Oregonians;
  • Access to affordable housing;
  • Access to healthcare, including access to women’s healthcare and mental healthcare;
  • Access to a healthy environment;
  • Access to quality public education; and
  • Access to justice, including adequate funding for civil legal aid and Oregon’s immigration and public defender systems.

Please vote for me to be your next Representative. Together, we can ensure District 24 serves us all fairly.
