Educational Background: Miami University, Oxford, Ohio; B.A.

Prior Governmental Experience: State Representative, District 42

It's been my honor to represent Inner SE and NE Portland. Coming out of the pandemic, our district needs someone who will continue to lead on progressive changes that improves peoples’ lives.

Changes and causes I have championed in my prior terms in office include:

Making it easier to build affordable housing units;

Passing Paid Family and Medical Leave — ensuring that every worker will have time to care for themselves or a loved one;

Creating a new corporate activity tax to fund schools so we can lower class sizes, ensure every child has a nurse and counselor, and bring back art, music and PE classes;

Working to reform policing practices that disproportionally harm BIPOC Oregonians;

Bringing a new focus on our state’s mental and behavioral health system — securing over $1 billion in new investments;

Making sure our state does its part to help our city and county address our region's challenges with homelessness.

But my work is not done. I’ll keep championing progressive priorities including:

Eliminating racist approaches to criminal justice and policing;

Getting to a universal healthcare system and lowering prescription drug costs;

Eliminating tuition at our public universities and community colleges;

Securing even more financial support for public health and behavioral/mental health services to address the on-going mental health challenges in our state;

Pushing for bolder action on climate change; and

Standing up for legal, safe, and affordable reproductive health services including abortion.

I am supported by many progressive organizations. Some of my endorsers include:

Planned Parenthood PAC of Oregon

Basic Rights Oregon Equality PAC

Pro-Choice Oregon PAC

Oregon Nurses Association

Services Employees International Unions Locals 49 and 503

Pacific Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters

Oregon League of Conservation Voters

& many more

Ron Noble

I am blessed to have lived in the Willamette Valley since 1974.  I have been married to my wife Sue for 37 wonderful years, and I am a father to four sons and one daughter.  I am also the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren.

I served as a police officer for 28 years: most recently as Chief of Police for the City of McMinnville.  My community involvement, combined with my experience in serving the residents of McMinnville and Yamhill County, has provided me with a unique understanding of my district’s issues and the importance of strong representation in the Capitol.

It is my honor to have been elected for a second term as State Representative for District 24. Having worked successfully with partners in the community, I have used that knowledge to build relationships throughout the Capitol. This has allowed me to move important legislation and to work across the aisle. When it comes to the issues important to everyday Oregonians, you’ll always know where I stand. I will look for common-sense solutions to benefit the citizens of Oregon and the communities of McMinnville, Carlton, Dundee, Hillsboro, Lafayette, and Yamhill.

Please don’t hesitate to contact my office at 503-986-1424 or send an email to Rep.RonNoble@oregonlegislature.gov.

It is my privilege to represent and serve you.

What do you think?

Do your state legislators:

  • make themselves available to hear and acknowledge your concerns?
  • deliberate issues with balance and compromise?
  • protect the rights of individuals and families?
  • create an environment that allows small businesses to thrive?
  • address the crime and public safety concerns in your neighborhood?
  • care about the exploding population density of our neighborhoods?
  • respect the right of local school boards to make the decisions that are right for their own districts?
  • adequately address the maintenance of roads and traffic congestion in our communities?

If you answered NO to any of these questions, then maybe you would like a change in leadership.

The legislature has repeatedly overruled the will of the people. I will do my legislative business as directed by you, my constituents. I care about your concerns. My door will be open to you, not only in Salem but here in our district, where we live.

We need to listen to one another, find common ground, and build on the fundamental principles and values that we share.

I hope we agree on the principles of inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; the dignity and worth of every person; justice with the rule of law; individual freedom and responsibility; volunteerism; and the belief that family and faith should be protected from government intrusion.

I strongly believe that these solid, foundational principles will help us build free and prosperous communities together.

I’d like to hear what you think!

SHELLY BOSHART DAVIS: EXPERIENCED AND EFFECTIVE

“Shelly Boshart Davis has been an outstanding advocate on both rural and urban issues; issues that impact agriculture, transportation and job creation. We need Shelly’s experience, energy and common sense in the legislature to fight for issues affecting people in Albany.”

Janet Steele, President,

Albany Area Chamber of Commerce

“Shelly is a needed voice in the Oregon Legislature. Over the past years, she has been tapped as a leader in multiple issues facing Oregonians – from Cap and Trade and redistricting to transportation issues affecting the every day life of hardworking Oregonians. Shelly always answers the call to step up and work for fairness and balance in lawmaking.”

Vikki Breese-Iverson, State Representative,

House Republican Leader

SHELLY BOSHART DAVIS: FIGHTING FOR OUR COMMUNITY

I grew up in rural Linn County – this is where I’ve chosen to raise a family and build a business. I believe government functions best when ordinary people get involved.

Listening to our community, I have brought our values to Salem and worked on common sense proposals:

  • Fought for a transparent and nonpartisan approach to redistricting to bring fairness and balance to representation.
  • Advocated for our youth through “Return to Play” as a mom concerned about the overall well-being of our children during school shutdowns.
  • Sponsored legislation to limit the Governor’s emergency powers.
  • Continued efforts urging the legislature to expand school choice, allowing parents more freedom and choice for their children. Parents know best.
  • Sponsored legislation for tax relief due to impacts of wildfire.

If you choose to vote for me, I will continue advocating for you. I will hold government accountable, support law enforcement and keep public safety as a top priority, and always support our 2nd amendment rights.
