I am running for the position of House Representative for District 55 because it’s time to elect someone who’s not a professional politician. I grew up in Klamath Falls and graduated from Klamath Union in 1973. I also graduated with a degree in political science from Southern Oregon University in 1993, so I know what it’s like to be a nontraditional student.

I know what it’s like to be a single parent and raised my daughter on my own. I worked as a chef and retired at the start of the pandemic. Most representatives in Oregon are from the upper middle class, are businessmen, or are otherwise not representative of most people. My life experience makes me able to understand the challenges that working class families have. that most people have. I won’t cater to just the well off.

I also don‘t think that you must be a Christian in order to hold public office. The First Amendment says that ‘there shall be no religious test for office’. Since my opponent supports a candidate who has said he will terminate the Constitution, it’s no surprise he doesn’t pay attention to it.

I am strongly against laws which decrease personal liberty. Health decisions need to be made by doctors, not lawmakers. Health decisions shouldn’t be made by insurance companies, either.

If you vote for me, I will understand the real problems of real people, not just those with big checkbooks. I will show up on time and do my job without complaint. I will work with other legislators to do what is best for the state and District 55. Cooperation will gain more than confrontation in Salem. I will look out for your interests. Klamath and Deschutes counties deserve someone who will help them. Please vote for me!
