I am a farmer and rancher raising grass-fed beef on my family farm near Scio. I'm running as a non-partisan independent candidate for the Oregon Legislature to ensure our government in Salem listens to the people instead of lobbyists and out-of-state interests.
WORKING FOR RURAL OREGON
I have over a decade of experience working to pass bipartisan legislation including: the creation of Oregon's Beginning and Expanding Farmer Loan Program, expanding market opportunities for small and mid-sized family farms, protections for the Willamette Valley's world-renowned specialty seed industry, investments in local meat processing to support independent livestock producers, and ensuring consumer access to raw milk. I know how to get things done in Salem.
DEDICATED TO PUBLIC SERVICE
I served four years as a Director of the Colton Rural Fire Protection District in Clackamas County. I understand how to hold government agencies accountable to the public while providing effective services within tight budgets. I have tremendous respect for our firefighters and other first responders and know how vital they are in rural Oregon.
If elected, I will:
- Support legislation to help independent family farmers and ranchers in Linn County succeed
- Protect the right of law abiding citizens to keep and bear arms while providing law enforcement the tools needed to prevent and prosecute crime
- Work to lower health care costs and ensure that politicians don't stand between people and their doctors
- Invest in working forests and jobs in the woods to reduce wildfire risk
- Hold government agencies accountable for wasteful spending and unnecessary regulations
- Advocate for local businesses, local agriculture and personal freedom
Too many politicians in Salem listen more to big money lobbyists and out-of-state corporations than to local residents, including my opponent. It's time for a new approach.
