Lowering cost of living: As a union member, Chris knows that working families are struggling to pay for groceries, gas, and healthcare. Chris passed a law protecting families from unfair debt collection and a tax credit to put more money in working families’ pockets.
Keeping our communities safe: As a former police officer, Chris is working to make sure law enforcement has the support they need to keep our community safe. He introduced a law that reduced catalytic converter thefts by 80%, delivered funding to put at-risk kids on a better path and championed legislation that cracked down on illegal street racing.
Protecting reproductive rights: Chris will always protect access to abortion, birth control, and other reproductive healthcare for his daughter and all Oregon women.
Addressing homelessness and housing: Rent and mortgage payments are skyrocketing, leaving too many families struggling to afford the basics - and even going homeless. Chris supported record housing investments to build more affordable housing and help get people off the streets.
Investing in education: Chris believes every student deserves access to a quality education. He made historic investments in East County classrooms, including in early literacy and summer learning so that every student has the support they need.
