Bruce Starr is a small business owner and lifelong Oregonian. He grew up on a family farm in Hillsboro. He has served in the Oregon Legislature before, where he was regarded as a transportation expert – providing leadership on the Business and Transportation Committee in both chambers.

Local Economy:

Return Oregon’s approach to one that rewards entrepreneurship and enhances small business and well-paying job development. Fleecing and over-regulating local businesses in order to drive up tax revenue has not fared well for Oregonians in the long run. Bruce believes we must incentivize our small and medium-scale businesses to stay here.

Transportation:

Investing in roads and bridges improves our quality of life, supports our small businesses and enhances our economy. Success with our transportation budget will be defined by how well we restore the road infrastructure we currently have.

Starr is largely responsible for the funding and building of the Newberg-Dundee bypass, which alleviated traffic at a significant chokepoint for Yamhill County.

Stand up to Crime:

Rampant drug use and associated crime has wrecked havoc in our communities. We must ensure that criminals are arrested and prosecuted to keep our communities safe. We should expect nothing less from our government.
