It’s an honor to represent inner SE and NE Portland in Salem. Our city has its challenges. Our district needs someone who will lead on changes that will help Portland get better.
Policies I have championed include:
Making more services and funding available to support Multnomah County and various organizations in providing more mental, behavioral and addiction treatment;
Addressing challenges with Ballot Measure 110;
Making it easier to build more housing and apartments of all kinds;
Passing Paid Family and Medical Leave — ensuring that every worker has the time to care for themselves or a loved one;
Creating a corporate activities tax to better fund schools so we can lower class sizes and ensure that every child has a nurse and a counselor, and art, music and PE classes;
Helping our city and county offer more shelter for the homelessness; and
Addressing climate change by helping to pass a “right to repair” for electronic devices.
But my work is not done. My priorities including:
Advocating for more behavioral/mental health, addiction and homeless services to address these on-going challenges;
Working toward a universal healthcare system for all and lowering prescription drug costs;
Better funding for K – 12 Education especially in light of the strike last November;
Reducing/Eliminating tuition at public universities and community colleges;
Pushing for more action on climate change particularly when it comes to transportation; and
Standing up for legal, safe, and affordable reproductive health care including abortion.
My campaign is supported by:
